Renewing your Australian passport

Renewing your current Australian adult passport

If you are an Australian adult citizen aged 18 years or over and have an Australian adult passport (valid for at least 2 years) which is current or has expired within the last 12 months, shows your current personal details, and is not damaged, you are eligible to apply for renewal of your Australian passport using a streamlined (PC7) process.

Applications must be lodged in person at the Australian Embassy in Amman.

The PC7 renewal service cannot be used for:

  • renewing a passport which expired more than 12 months ago
  • renewing a passport which has a seriously damaged biodata page
  • children's renewals
  • adults renewing a passport that was issued when they were under 18 years of age
  • renewing a passport previously reported as lost or stolen
  • requesting a renewal when the applicant also wants to change the name or other personal details printed on the biodata page in their passport

Ensure that you take note of the passport photograph size and quality requirements. If your photographs do not meet the criteria, your application will be rejected.

Passport Fees

Consular and Passport fees are set in Australian dollars under legislation and applicable from 1 July each year.

Fees for services provided by the Australian Embassy in Amman are accepted in Jordanian Dinars, and in cash only.

It is important to note that the fees are adjusted monthly in line with exchange rate fluctuations. Please contact the Embassy for the current month's fees.
